Description
Duodart is a combination medication containing two active ingredients: dutasteride and tamsulosin. Dutasteride belongs to a class of drugs known as 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, which work by reducing the size of the prostate gland. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker that relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. Together, these ingredients help alleviate urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate, a common condition in older men known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Duodart effectively improves urinary flow, reduces the need for frequent urination, and helps with emptying the bladder more completely. It is prescribed by healthcare professionals to manage BPH symptoms and enhance overall quality of life for individuals experiencing prostate-related urinary issues.

Directions for Use:

1. Take Duodart exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
2. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.
3. Duodart can be taken with or without food.
4. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule, as it should be swallowed whole.

Caution:

• Inform your healthcare provider about all other medications you are currently taking to avoid potential drug interactions.
• Do not donate blood while taking Duodart and for at least six months after stopping treatment, as the medication can be absorbed through the skin and may cause birth defects in a developing male baby.
• Report any unusual or severe side effects, such as dizziness, fainting, or allergic reactions, to your healthcare provider promptly.
• Attend regular follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider to monitor your prostate health and the effectiveness of the medication.
